A Welcome Message from the Principal

Welcome to St John Vianney Catholic Primary School Greenacre. Our school is part of the Sydney Archdiocese of Catholic Schools. We provide quality teaching and learning for boys and girls from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are located in south-west Sydney in the suburb of Greenacre.

Our school has a close relationship with the parish of St John Vianney and St Thomas More Greenacre. Together school and parish work to provide opportunities for all to learn centred on our Catholic faith and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our school has a close connection with the teachings and life of Australia’s first saint, Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop, as our school was founded by the Sisters of St Joseph in 1961.

Dedicated staff provide all students with contemporary, quality teaching and learning experiences. Students are provided with many opportunities to excel in all areas. Students and parents have access to technology and quality resources to assist in their learning. St John Vianney Catholic Primary School works in close partnership with all families in catering for the needs of students.

The vision of our school is “Believe, Persist, Achieve” with all members of the community focussed on giving their best efforts to all areas of their learning. Students strive to meet their full potential in all that they do.

As well as providing a contemporary educational program the school also provides access to: Parish sacramental programs, St John Vianney Juniors Playgroup, Before and After School Care, a holiday sports program and specialised Music lessons. Please explore our school website to view all that our school has to offer.

It is my privilege to serve the Greenacre community as principal of St John Vianney Catholic Primary School.

Philip Barrington
